Dear friends and fellow artists,

We are getting ready for our yearly kids camp at the New Orleans School of Glassworks and Printmaking Studio. As the coordinator for the flameworked glass department, I am in charge of making sure that my students have everything they need to learn and create on the torch with. We have good enrollment and enough glass for the first few weeks of camp, but I am worried after that. I can only improvise so much.

So I have come up with a few things that we could use if anyone is willing to donate. We could greatly use some more glass, whether scrap or full rods, as we are especially low on 96 and 104 compatible glass. We use this glass, predominately during the summer to introduce the kids to the processes by making glass beads. We can always use old hand tools and eye-glasses and such, as well. That's about it. We're not asking for much and, as always, we are a non-profit school with 501c3 status. Therefore, all donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Also, we still have a few spots for campers. The furnaces are up for campers the first two weeks, till June 15, then just glass torch working and lathe, enameling, printmaking, books, metal, and a number of other departments throughout the summer. Inquires about our Young Adult Camp can be sent to neworleansglassworks@gmail.com or call our office at (504) 529-7279, M-F between the hours of 10am and 5pm. Or call me at 504-723-8235.

Thanks for your time and generosity,
