Below are the results from the Top 5 Marble Makers poll. In all there were a total of 32 voters. The scores shown are based on scoring 5 points for a
first place vote, 4 points for a second, 3 points for a third, 2 points for a fourth, and 1 point for a fifth place vote. Anyone receiving a vote has been
listed in the final tally. Where more than one person has received the same number of points, the names are listed alphabetically. I have a checked and

I'd really like to try my hand at taking some digital pictures of my collection for posting and documentation purposes. I've only got a 2.0 megapixel Olympus, but it's always taken decent shots. I've messed around taking a few with poor results even using the macro setting. I think my main problem is inadequate lighting.

So with all the beautiful photos that I've seen posted here, I was hoping for some free advice. Are there any good websites that don't require a phd to get thru?...

Let me start by extending my sincere apology as stated below. In doing so, I am not seeking nor expecting any change to occur in how some view my participation in the contemporary marble field. What I can tell you is it is heartfelt and not simply words on a screen.

I have come to understand that some believe I am unaware of what occurs around me, I do not.
I beg to differ. I don't quite see the reasoning for technique being cheap. It takes a creative mind to create a good technique. Sure lots of techniques are stumbled upon by accident but so are most great inventions. Plus it takes much refining of an idea to bring it to the completed design. And there are so many wellthough out ways of using techniques. I can see if a someone was taught an easy but effective technique and then used thier "secret" techinque over and over again....
